From Us to You - Intro to Fall/Winter 2026 Edition

Dear friends and neighbors,
As America marks 250 years, this Fall/Winter 2026 issue asks not only what makes us proud to be Americans, but what that inheritance requires of us.
Across these pages, patriotism takes many forms. It looks like neighbors joining together to put someone back on the road and help him reach a new job. It looks like a mother and daughter building a downtown business rooted in faith, family, beauty, and encouragement. It lives in the memories of Americans whose lives have been stitched into the fabric of their communities.
Patriotism also requires courage—the courage to remember history, recognize threats to freedom, protect vulnerable children, and defend the Constitution as the supreme law of our land. Our contributors consider the Judeo-Christian principles that helped shape American law, the responsibilities of faithful citizenship, the danger of surrendering liberty to destructive ideologies, and the duty to remain vigilant against evil hiding in plain sight. We are also reminded that responsible stewardship of our families, finances, and future is part of preserving what we have been given.

In stories still to come, we will hear from our local library and from a veteran whose service gives special weight to the word freedom. Together, these voices offer no shallow or sentimental picture of America. They acknowledge that our country has faced division, hardship, injustice, and failure. Yet they also affirm that the American experiment remains worth defending.
True patriotism is not blind praise. It is gratitude joined with responsibility. It is loving our households, our neighbors, our towns, and our country enough to strengthen them. It is teaching the next generation where our freedoms came from—and what it may cost to preserve them.
Thank you to every writer, advertiser, reader, veteran, first responder, pastor, teacher, business owner, and neighbor who helps make this magazine and this community possible. We hope this edition leaves you not only proud to be an American, but determined to keep America faithful, free, and worthy of that pride.
Enjoy this new edition.
From us to you,
Your co-editors
